Anisuzzaman Chowdhury is chairman of Navana Pharmaceuticals, a publicly listed company, and chairman of Anowara Construction Ltd, a heavy industry construction company. He is also a director of a private bank in Bangladesh that was built by his father, the veteran leader, politician and businessman Mr Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu, and has been chairman of Gas One since 2023.
Having studied at Sherborne School, a prestigious all-boys boarding school in Dorset, England, Anisuzzaman Chowdhury attended Palm Beach Atlantic College in Florida, USA, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Anisuzzaman Chowdhury started his entrepreneurial journey while still studying at college, dabbling in small ventures and learning valuable lessons along the way. His first significant venture was a tech start-up that quickly gained traction thanks to his innovative approach and keen business acumen. A committed philanthropist, Anisuzzaman Chowdhury is Upalabdhi Orphanage’s largest donor. He has also made significant donations to Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital, the largest hospital in Chittagong, Bangladesh, facilitating free treatment for patients. Mr Chowdhury enjoys traveling in his spare time, having journeyed from the top of the Arctic all the way to the Antarctica. In addition to watching movies and listening to music, he enjoys playing tennis, squash and badminton in his spare time.
